Advanced Texas Holdem – Why Check-Raising Is For Losers
It is a confusing implement advanced Texas Holdem strategy. Read this book find out why check raising is for losers, if your a WPT champion.
I know that advanced Texas Holdem poker pros, WPT Champions and the mysterious "Texas Poker Gods' everything you say, check, raise, check and raise, check first, and later to increase. But for the most part I advised this strategy. If you followed my blog or articles at some point you will know. The bottom line is this:
– If you check, you can only win by a road. The card is better then the other players ..
– If you raise, there are two possibilities how you can win. This is to have better cards then the other players .. and the players can fold.
I would much rather take one of two ways.
Check raising is for losers. It does not work most of the time. It is a weak to play a coward. It is grown from the poverty mentality of 'I mean to save chip. My dear Chips! "." I can see the flop and raise it for free if I hit ". Or even worse (in my books) obvious trickster-mindset "hihi, I will have a trick. Hehe"
You can not save your way to riches. You can not trick your way into the Success. to learn hard work, common practice and a never-ending desire is what you need.
There is no substitute for a solid aggressive betting strategy. And you can not be aggressive when you check all the time. If you had a pair of aces, why would you check? If you have made a flush or have a nice flush draw, why you should check? If you've got a set and have an open-ended straight draw, why you should check?
So if you are so absolutely brilliant are your pre-flop reading skills, and know without doubt that your cards are better than your opponent, and you will probably Flop a better hand him then, and that he has a hand good enough to bet, but even worse than yours, so you have to take the pot, then I would not the trouble to check-raise.
