I am a poker dealer?
I deal poker at a poker room in Florida. I make $ 4.00 per hour plus tips. They used to tips to 10% to pay our superiors, …, and if the law passed for unlimited poker (07/2007), she began, 15% of the supervisors, chip runners, hostess, Cashiers … pay, 3 weeks after that, they started an additional 2% (17% total) for advertisiment and promotion. I wonder this is legal?, If not pay for their own companies advertisiment?. I know I am part of the company, but why take it out of my money. I have to buy the uniform. Rumor has it that they save close to a quarter million per year with 17%. The money they take from us will pay for the 401K and the hourly pay, we pay us in other words.
As someone who is not originally from America, I am constantly amazed by the country, what employers away with this. The way I look at it is that all employees minimum wage should be paid as a minimum. If it tips to earn extra money, tips should be considered such, and untaxed gifts from the public. After all, If I give a tip for good service, it is a gift that I have a staff member. For the bosses to steal these gifts and give a percentage of them for yourself or for operating costs, it seems outrageous to me. And then make your own uniform buy all things. At the end of the day you have to watch your average Tips Profit before tax per hour, inclusive, and see if you are doing okay. When you click to make a reasonable hourly rate, you live, you just have to accept what they do to. Without wanting to demean your profession is not the most demanding job in the world. So if you get the bottom line wage per hour is enough to live comfortably, then they talk to (or if another company offers better money). You are not earning enough to be happy, look at another profession.
