Word that defines when a rule or law goes into effect in a particular situation?
I am looking for a word … The term means that if a rule or law is in effect a certain situation. For example, in Texas Hold'em poker, the kicker card is used for specific times when 2 or more persons have the same best hand and one of them has a higher card .. the sentence would go "The kicker card is _____." or something … I just need a word that the importance can define. It was bothering me way too long. Another example could be in a sports game, a player something in a particular situation that can not be done provides that where certain Internet correspond with each other .. or maybe if a police officer pulls over a driver for speeding, you realize that it is after Driver curfew, and loads the drivers for 2 offenses, speeding and driving past curfew.
