The French New Wave was a term for a number of French directors in the late 50s and 60s, the films of Italian neo-realism and the coined to describe the spirit of classic Hollywood films. Many people have "The 400 Blows," Francois Truffaut's best film not only, but one of the greatest films of all time. A defining film in the French New Wave, "400 Blows" is a powerfully moving and hilarious story about Antoine Doinel, an ordinary French youth living in Paris. He gets into trouble, steal poker chips fights with his parents, and in the end, walks away. The last scene is a classic new-wave-shot, which was parodied by "The Simpsons" ..
