The French New Wave was a term for a number of French directors in the late 50s and 60s, the films of Italian neo-realism and the coined to describe the spirit of classic Hollywood films. Some of the common techniques and motifs were long tracking shots, existential Issues and the absurdity of humanity. One of the famous French New Wave directors and one of the most famous actresses of French New Wave "A Woman Is a Woman" by Jean-Luc Godard and Anna Karina is a classic movie in this genre and a great example of how the New Wave directors to run many classic Hollywood tropes such musical comedy and her own French twist put on them. The 400 Blows
Many people have "The 400 Blows," Francois Truffaut's best film not only, but one of the greatest films of all time. A defining film in the French New Wave, "400 Blows" is a powerfully moving and hilarious story about Antoine Doinel, an ordinary French youth living in Paris. He gets into trouble, steal poker chips fights with his parents, and in the end, walks away. The last scene is a classic new-wave-shot, which was parodied by "The Simpsons" ..
