In a Texas Holdem poker game, why a player ask another player in the hand, how many chips he has left?
I see it all the time televised poker games. Two players are heads up and you are betting or raising, or go with thinking, but first asks the other players in the hand, how much Money he has left? I think it has something to do with implied odds, but it is not clear to me.
To try to figure out, implied odds, you know not how much is in the pot, but how much you may win in hand and know that you need to know is how many chips the other person. Even the knowledge of the number of chips you can decide whether you think might work does not increase a player or if you. Someone throws 200, and only 300 left should not fold if you raise them since they are committed to the hand. But if someone has left 3000, then it is possible that this large of a bet you try to fold to bluff, if you want.
